How about a new snazzy coat of paint? Specifically, one to make the S3 purple, or amethyst, as Samsung likes to call it. Do I have the attention of ladies, fashionistas and guys in touch with their feminine sides?
If so, you should all know that the purple Galaxy S3 is most likely only headed to Sprint. At the moment, the carrier has just the classic white and pebble blue versions in stock, so the new model should bring a welcomed splash of color in the life of the network’s subscribers.
Rumored for a while now, the purple S3 has been very quietly outed on Samsung’s official website, but we should probably hear something official from Sprint over the next hours. Aside from the paintjob, there isn’t anything to set the new S3 and the old ones apart.
Which is not entirely a bad thing, because, while this is no GS4, it still packs a lot of heat – a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED panel, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU and 2 GB of RAM.
