Although Sony’s latest flagship smartphones, the Xperia Z and ZL, are extremely fresh on the market, rumors on the company’s next high-enders are floating around for a couple of weeks now and are gaining credibility by the day.
One of the less credible reports comes via Phone Arena confidential sources, according to which the next Sony crown jewel is codenamed Honami and will incorporate all of the luxury features previously rumored to be spread around several different handhelds.
That means awesome speakers and audio quality, a state of the art processor, a stunning display, but also a Cybershot camera. The snapper is said to be packing 20 megapixels, which would be complete madness.
But we know it’s not all about the megapixel count, which is why it’s also likely that Sony will be combining the 20 MP in clusters using a technology called binning. Moving on, rumor has it the “Honami” will come rocking a 5-inch Full HD screen, a Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at a whopping 2,3 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and a 3,000 mAh battery.
Aside from the ticker, which sounds a little short of groundbreaking, all the rest is… simply crazy. But again, this is just a rumor and even if the incredible Honami turns out to be legit, it will probably not become official until the second half of 2013.
