The iPhone 5 wasn’t the only big smartphone accepting pre-orders at T-Mobile this week. The upcoming HTC One was also up for grabs through HTC’s channels. At the time of this writing, HTC has sold out of pre-orders for the T-Mobile HTC One, but you can still buy it for Sprint and AT&T. You also buy the 32GB unlocked version for $574.99 or the 64GB Developer Edition for $649.99. Shipping is expected to begin on April 18.
T-Mobile customers shouldn’t be too upset about this. HTC was selling the pre-orders instead of T-Mobile. That means customers weren’t able to take part in the carrier’s new Simple Choice non-contract plans. The HTC One was being sold for $199 with a two-year contract. Even though T-Mobile isn’t directly dealing with contracts anymore, third party sellers still have that privilege. If you still prefer contracts, Best Buy is also selling the HTC One on T-Mobile for $249.99 with a two-year contract.
When T-Mobile does start selling the HTC One on its site and stores, it’ll cost $99 down and $20 a month with good credit. You’ll just have to choose a Simple Choice plan with the appropriate data amount for yourself. The options are 500MB for $50, 2GB for $60 and unlimited data for $70. Unlimited talk and text is also included.
