Unveiled at the same time as the Z10 (in January), the BlackBerry Q10 has been unfairly left hanging. It’s still impossible to purchase the QWERTY keyboard/ touchscreen-toting 3.1-incher anywhere in the world, which is a real downer for old BB fans that feel the Z10 is just not that productive.
But BlackBerry is not going to ask a lot more patience of you, as the Q10 is apparently headed to UK and Canada by the end of the month. British pre-orders have gone live with Clove and Carphone Warehouse a little while ago, whereas folks up north should expect the same to happen any day now.
That’s because, according to a leaked internal Rogers doc, the Canadian carrier will start selling the Q10 on April 30. We have no way to be sure of the leak’s legitimacy, but knowing Mobile Syrup’s track record with these kinds of things, we’re going to go on a limb and take the release date for granted.
No words on pricing yet, but if we were to guesstimate we’d say the phone should start at around $100 with three-year contracts and $600 outright. Sounds pricey, we know, but the Q10 is by far the most technically impressive QWERTY handheld in history. Its touchscreen is 720 x 720 pixels , there’s a 1.5 GHz dual-core CPU inside, 2 gigs of RAM, an 8 MP cam on the back and a massive 2,100 mAh battery.
