Say, when’s the last time you saw a blazing fast ultrabook go for a dime below 1,000 bucks? Can’t remember, eh? Well, Microsoft’s online store has a big surprise for all you ultrabook lovers out there, selling Acer’s beautiful Aspire S7 for a starting price of $899.
That’s a whopping 300 bucks off the 11-incher’s list price, but the entry-level S7 config is not the only one discounted. You can get the higher-end S7-391-6822 model for a special price too ($999, or $300 off), while the top of the line S7-391-9839 is $1,299, down from $1,649.
Starting from the bottom of the food chain, let’s mention the $900 worth Aspire S7-191 comes with a stunning 11.6-inch, 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution touch-enabled panel, a Core i5 1.7 GHz CPU, 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB SSD, Windows 8 and Intel HD Graphics 4000.
The S7-391-6822 has basically the same specs as its “cousin”, but sports a larger 13.3-inch LED screen with multi-touch support and the same amazing Full HD resolution. As for the 9839, that’s also a 13-incher running Windows 8, but it packs an SSD with double the storage (256 GB) and a zippier 1.9 Ghz Intel Core i7 processor.
Needless to say all three models are real bargains for the freshly discounted prices, so the choice between them will all come down to your personal preferences and needs. So what say you, guys? 11 or 13-incher? Core i5 or i7? 128 or 256 GB SSD? Lower price or bleeding edge performance?
