HTC’s fall from grace in the smartphone market has been as abrupt as it has been shocking, but the Taiwanese look to be back in form. The 4.7-inch One is definitely a very capable Samsung Galaxy S4 adversary, while the M4 is likely to be the company’s biggest push in the upper mid-range niche in the near future.
The star of numerous unconfirmed reports in the past couple of months, the M4 has had its first press photo leaked yesterday, courtesy of notorious Twitter user @evleaks. But the rumor bonanza doesn’t stop there, as the same serial leaker has apparently gained confirmation of one of the US carriers set to sell the M4.
AT&T is the name, but it’s unclear if whether the network is to have exclusivity over the M4 or if they just got it before the competition. Whatever will be the case, chances are that the mid-ranger will be called the One Mini, being exactly what that name hints at – a shrunken-down version of the flagship device, with more modest specs.
Among these, One Mini will allegedly feature a 4.3-inch 720p display, dual-core 1.2 GHz CPU, 2 GB of RAM, Ultrapixel camera and 1,700 mAh battery. Granted, those are not exceptional features, but if HTC is to price the fellow at, say, $400 outright, can you really say no to it?
