PlayOn logoMediaMall Technologies, the company behind the popular PlayOn software, has announced the launch of MyMedia.

MyMedia is a free media server software application that allows users to stream personal media to their TVs via gaming consoles like the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii, set-top boxes like Roku, Google TV and Apple TV (via AirPlay), or directly to Internet-connected smart TVs.

In addition to today’s launch, the MyMedia Channel is now available for free in the Roku Channel Store.

Roku users that have the MyMedia server can stream their local media content through the Roku to their TVs, including movie files, home videos, photo albums and music. Since launching in the Roku Channel Store on May 14, the MyMedia Channel has averaged more than 1,300 downloads a day and received a 4.5 star rating.

“There is no other solution for streaming personal media that is as easy to install and simple to use as MyMedia,” said Jeff Lawrence, CEO, MediaMall Technologies.

“MyMedia takes the complications and second guessing out of the equation, giving users the ability to access all the great videos, music and pictures they have stored on their computer, on their TV—no fuss and up-and-running in under five minutes.”
