samsung_galaxy_note_80It’s officially official, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8.0 is landing on AT&T with 4G LTE on June 21. Also, we have the scoop on pricing. But a fair warning first – you’re not going to like it.

Now that you’re probably emotionally ready for the worst, here it is – the 8-inch LTE-enabled tablet will cost $399.99 on AT&T. With mandatory two-year agreements. Ouch! That’s pretty bad, even compared to the Wi-Fi only variant, which goes for roughly 380 bucks while not requiring a contract.

But before running for your life and never again looking back at the GNote 8.0, you should know that AT&T is also planning to offer the thing bundled with select Samsung smartphones at a slightly lower price.

Namely, if you’ll get both the Note 8.0 and the Galaxy S4, S4 Active or Note 2, the tablet’s price will drop to $199.99. Sadly, again with a mandatory 24-month contract, but you do save 200 bucks and that’s something, right?

Remember, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 is essentially a jumbo-sized Note 2, coming with GSM voice support and pretty much the same specs, save for the display, which is a little more modest at the tablet (1,280 x 800 pix res, or 189 ppi pixel density). The cameras are also a tad less capable (5 and 1.3 MP), whereas the battery is larger, but not by much – 4,600 vs. 3,100 mAh.
