Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Zoom, the gizmo that we still don’t know if it’s a phone with a high-tech camera or a cam with phone call support, is coming to the UK. So far nothing newsworthy, since we figured that much when Sammy made the Zoom official.
Then why are we wasting your time? Well, we’re not, because the newsworthy part is Clove has opened GS4 Zoom pre-orders, also revealing the thing’s grand launch date. And it isn’t very far away. First stock is “due week commencing July 8th”, so essentially 10 days from now. Two weeks tops.
With so little time left, you should already look for your piggybanks if you want the Zoom. It isn’t cheap, mind you, going for £442.80 including VAT (roughly 675 US bucks), but I guess it’s worth it… if you’re into these kinds of bizarre hybrids and don’t mind the bulk.
Yes, the bulk, as the phone-camera ensemble tips the scale at 208 grams while measuring a record-breaking (but not in a good way) 15.4 mm in thickness. In the hardware department, you get a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor and 1.5 GB of RAM, but the main selling point is by far the rear snapper’s 16 MP sensor, autofocus, 10x optical zoom, Xenon flash and optical image stabilization.
