Although it’s difficult to tell from all the dreary weather we’ve been having, it is indeed summer. And we all know that summer means stepping outside into the sun for food, fun and laughs. But what is any outdoor celebration without music? Answer: Lame! Unless it’s a tennis match (I got your back, Andy Murray).
Awesome technological advances have paved the way for Bluetooth speakers and I’d be lying if I said that the Oontz Bluetooth speaker from Cambridge SoundWorks isn’t one of my top picks for this summer. And it’s not just cause the colors are SUPER PRETTY (though they are.)
Take It Anywhere!
Do you know the #1 way to become a hero? Be the guy/girl who can turn any party into a dance party! With the Oontz, you will always be ready for your heroic moment because it’s ultra-portable. Yeah, that’s right ultra portable. The dimensions of the Oontz are 5.2 in. X 2.8 in. Weighing in at 10 oz., the Oontz is ready for anything and anywhere. But maybe leave it home during the golf match because blasting “We are the Champions” by Queen is a quick way to get kicked out (I know from experience).
Sync In A Snap
In my younger years, “Bluetooth” was synonymous with “enjoy waiting forever while your phone searches for the source.” However, the Oontz connects in a flash so that you can spend those saved minutes mastering how to hopscotch like a boss (or something a little cooler). Also, you’ll get Bluetooth connectivity from up to 30 feet, which means you can still Instagram photos of your awesome Power Rangers themed pool party from 30 feet away!
No Bluetooth device? No problem. You can also use the included audio cable to connect your device to the Oontz. The Oontz speaker can also double as a speakerphone! My only gripe is the flashing lights confused me since the flashing could mean a number of things, but it’s not a hinderance of any sort. I just don’t suggest staring at it for too long.
And The Beat Goes On
But Hannah, small speakers always run out of battery! Don’t worry readers. The Oontz provides ten hours of battery life. Do you have any idea how many Spice Girls songs you could play in that time? Well, all of them. I guess that was a bad example. Do you have any idea how many Beatles songs you could play in that time? A LOT! You could also force your friends to listen to The Lord of the Rings audiobook, but that might be more of a buzzkill unless your friends are Leonard and Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory. When you need to recharge the Oontz, simply plug it into the mini USB cable that comes with it.
The Oontz might be small but don’t be deceived. The Oontz packs amazing sound thanks to the high quality drivers and the passive radiator that amp up the bass. And the speaker gets loud. I mean really loud…When I tested it, my roommate came upstairs to tell me I woke her up from her precious nap. I don’t feel bad, she drank all the milk. Anyways, the point is that the Oontz can provide you good quality audio in any setting.
The Oontz speaker is beautiful! If I could I would shout it from the top of the highest mountaintop because I am admittedly obsessed. With a variety of colors to choose from, it’s got something for everyone. Personally, I want one in every color. The design isn’t anything cutting edge, but it’s the sleek simplicity I really appreciate. The speaker itself fits in one hand so I give it an A+ for ergonomic comfort.
The Oontz is available in 9 colors at a price point of $69.99. You can check it out here: The Oontz
Cambridge SoundWorks also has the Oontz Angle, which also costs $69.99, weighs a little less than the Oontz, and has a cool triangular design.
I’m all about the Oontz. Whether it’s a summer BBQ, a spontaneous beach trip or an ice cream social, the Oontz will get the job done and it will look sleek doing it. The bass is great, the volume has a wide range, connectivity is a snap, and the price can’t be beat. So what are you waiting for? Oontz Oontz Oontz all summer long!
