Back in May, Apple announced that the iTunes store has surpassed 50 billion app downloads. Earlier on Friday, Larry Page announced that Google Play Store has also just reached the same milestone. The announcement was made at Google’s earnings call, where the company shed some light on its earnings for Q2 2013.
At the Google I/O conference few weeks back, it was revealed that the Google Play store has reached 48 billion downloads.
At the earnings call, he also mentioned that the company has paid more money to the app developers in the first half of this compared to the entire 2012.
It was also revealed that almost 1.5m Android devices are activated every day, which can be considered an excellent accomplishment for the operating system that has been trying to give iOS a competition.
It has been a decent quarter for Google which expected to become even better due to the number of devices that are expected to launch later this year such as Galaxy Note 3, LG G2 and many more. What do you think about the earnings call for the next year? Will it stay the same?
