Ever since the Motorola Moto X became official we basically received only bad news, including preposterous on-contract pricing and AT&T exclusivity over the Moto Maker tool, but for once we have good news to report today.
Two pieces of good news, actually, starting with Moto X’s US launch date. August 23 has been mentioned more than once as the ETA for Verizon, only now it’s the ETA for all four major American carriers.
That means you could be able to grab one of these bad boys with AT&T, Verizon or Sprint contracts, plus on T-Mobile’s “UnCarrier” plans starting just 15 days from now. Can I get a “hell yeah”?
Of course, the information is not yet confirmed, so a little caution is still advised. Meanwhile, the even better news might be that AT&T’s Moto Maker exclusivity is said to end come early November. That’s three full months from now, but it could have been much worse, right?
Remember, Moto Maker is essentially what makes the Moto X stand out, offering users the possibility to choose their own preferred colors from a very wide palette, plus special build materials, accessories and also add in a custom signature on the device’s back.
Really neato, so it’s a shame only Ma Bell customers can enjoy it for the foreseeable future. But three months is not such a long time. Or is it?
