Since the newest stallion in Nokia’s Lumia stable, the 1020, is official for a month now, you should’ve been able to form an opinion on it already. Don’t tell me, is it that the phone is very sleek-looking, with a top-notch camera and decent specs all around, but much too pricey considering the competition?
That’s exactly what I think, too. But fret not, as Amazon is slowly but steadily on its way to selling the Lumia 1020 for its “correct” price. Initially made available for a whopping $300 with AT&T contracts, the 4.5-incher has been dropped to just 250 bucks.
I know, “just” is not the best way to put it, as $250 is still roughly $50 more than what other high-end smartphones go for. But like I said, we’re getting closer and closer to the handheld’s real market value.
You can also file under good news the fact that the $249.99 price point through Amazon is valid both for new and upgrading AT&T customers. Plus, you have the choice between the white, black and yellow color variations. On the other hand, the off-contract price continues to be $669.99, which is almost preposterous.
All in all, you’d probably be wise to still wait it out before committing to the Nokia Lumia 1020. If you don’t need to have that 41 MP PureView camera yesterday, that is.
