While I’m not personally a fan of Outlook, I have had to concede that Outlook’s ability to schedule an email is a big advantage. Fortunately, I just discovered a Firefox/Chrome extension that adds that functionality it Gmail. It’s called Boomerang, and so far, I’m liking it.

It’s an easy install, although it does require you to enable pop-ups for the service to work properly. Once it’s installed, you will have a new option in addition to Send.

Boomerang Send Option

It gives you lots of customization options and easy-to-select standard options, which makes scheduling quick.

But that’s not all. You can also tell Boomerang to send the message back to your Inbox if you haven’t received a response by a particular time. Sweet! Pre-Boomerang, I worked around it with Mailbox and their feature to schedule an email to return. While it works, it involved using both my phone and my computer to perform the task. Much better to have it all in one place.

Boomerang Return Options

As you’ve probably guessed from previous posts, I’m big on maximizing productivity. Boomerang is a nice tool for that.
