A few days ago we heard a rumor that mentioned a possible launch of a Nokia tablet in the coming months – September to be exact. To back that rumor, an image of the alleged Nokia tablet has emerged from Chinese shores on Weibo, a Twitter-like Chinese micro-blogging site.
The photo above shows the device in red with logos of a few companies, Nokia and Verizon. The third one that is clearly visible is the Windows RT, which was something denied in the earlier rumor, as the tablet was expected to run Windows 8.1 not Windows RT. Anyways, moving on with the rumor, it doesn’t mention any further details about the table, such as its specifications, availability or pricing.
Earlier rumors suggested that the Nokia tablet will come with Snapdragon 800 SoC, 32GB internal storage, 10 inch display boasting 1080p resolution and a USB 3.0 port. The device is also expected to hit AT&T but we don’t have any solid proof about that.
The tablet is expected to launch on September 26, the same month in which Apple is expected to unveil its tablet lineup including the refreshed iPad Mini and iPad. However, we’re not sure if it will run Windows RT. The Redmond giant had tough times promoting it and in the earlier rumor, the Nokia Power User tipster clearly mentioned that Nokia will drop Windows RT in the favor of Windows 8.1 – the sole reason for the delay of the launch of tablet. I guess only time will tell what this device will bring at the table. Let’s just wait for an official announcement from the Finnish Maker and see what they have to say.
