Well, well, well, what have we here? It’s proof @evleaks is still in the business of revealing unreleased gadgets way ahead of their time. The infamous leaker has been on somewhat of a cold streak lately, but we’ll have no more of that today, as the HTC Zara is showcased in all its glory.
True, this is not exactly the most exciting smartphone in history and is definitely not even in the top ten devices leaked out by @evleaks. But it could be a fairly intriguing mid-end, budget-conscious device. Of course, if HTC will decide to be conscious about your budgets and price the Zara accordingly.
Sporting a large but pretty low-res 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pix res) screen, the handheld is said to pack a dual-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm MSM8930 (aka Snapdragon S4 Plus) CPU under the hood and 1 GB of RAM.
Nothing spectacular there, but the most enticing part of Zara’s spec sheet is by far the running of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Sense 5.5 UI on top. What’s Sense 5.5? A version of HTC’s own special user interface that hasn’t even been released yet. Neato, eh?
Moving on, the Zara is to come with a modest 8 gigs of on-board storage (expandable via microSD, thank God), a decently sized 2,100 mAh battery and an 8 MP rear-facing camera (no UltraPixel love?). No words on pricing yet, while as far as availability goes we only have a vague “Q4” ETA to chew on. Oh, come on, HTC, that’s at least a month and a half away.
