Well, sort of. LG has simply uploaded an awfully vague teaser on YouTube, featuring the tab’s market name: G Pad 8.3. In the video are bits and pieces of interviews with people’s wishes for the slates of the future.
Nowhere in the clip is the actual 8.3-incher shown, but fortunately a Korean website has somehow managed to come into the possession of a photo comparison between what appears to be the G Pad 8.3 and LG’s latest flagship phone, the G2.
Before going any further, keep in mind that there’s no way to check the legitimacy of this render, which may as well be a fan-made concept. With that said, if the G Pad 8.3 will indeed appear as it is above, I think it’s safe to assume that LG has a gadget with an immense hit potential.
I mean, the gizmo looks elegant, sleek and clean; the bezels are not too thick (or too thin,) and on the whole it looks like we’re dealing with an oversized G2, which is perfect, since the 5.2-inch phone is a design jewel.
As far as G Pad 8.3 specs go, we of course can’t have many guarantees at this point but a 1,920 x 1,200 pixels resolution display, 2 GB of RAM, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and optional 4G LTE speeds seem to be set in stone already. All the rest shall be revealed in a week or so, during or before IFA. Keep in touch.
