Samsung is taking on a whole new audience with the announcement of one of its latest tablets. Dubbed the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids, this tablet is designed specifically for children. It won’t be considered a high-end tablet by any means, but the power it does have should be efficient enough to satisfy kids.
As you can see, the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids sports a colorful exterior. On the inside is Android 4.1 with a 1.2GzHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM 8GB of expandable storage, a rear 3 megapixel camera and a front 1.3 megapixel camera. Samsung isn’t using a traditional Android user interface in this tablet. It’s opted for a customized interface that’s way easier for a child to understand. The Galaxy Tab 3 Kids also comes with pre-installed applications in the form of books, games and other entertainment apps.
Samsung didn’t specify whether this tablet has a rugged exterior that can withstand the bumps its likely to receive from kids. However, images of the tablet show what appears to be a somewhat thick outer casing that could provide some protection.
There’s also going to be some accessories for this tablet including a “C Pen,” grips and stands.
