Sony Xperia Honami may be the company’s worst kept secret, after Asus Nexus 7 II that is. We have seen the leaked images of the device on several occasions along with its specifications. Now, the device has been spotted on China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center (Tenaa) – you can consider this to be FCC of China.
As you can see from the images below, the device isn’t offering much of anything new, as we’ve seen the device leaked in great detail. While Sony is also busy teasing its fans with the #bestofSony images giving us a sneak peek of some of the known features of the device.
If you don’t know, the device will be powered by quad-core Snadpragon 800 chipset clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB RAM, Adreno 330 GPU, 16GB internal storage with microSD card support, 20.7 megapixel camera with G Lens, 2MP front camera, 3,100 mAh battery and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on top of it. The device also features a 5-inch Triluminous display with 1080p resolution. Lastly, its expected to be dust and water resistant, as portrayed in one of the teasers posted by Sony.
Sony will unveil the device on September 4 in Berlin, just before IFA kicks off. These are the alleged specifications but we do hope that Sony will include the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in its flagship device. Sony is also rumored to launch a miniature version of Honami that will feature top of the line specifications as the flagship but will boast a smaller screen of 4-inches with 720p display. I can’t wait for September 4 as we will see a number of flagship devices from various manufacturers.
