A few days after a short video teaser and photo render came out, LG has officially announced the LG G Pad. Yes, as the company’s first foray into the tablet market, the 8-inch full HD tablet is ready to face the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Tab and iPad Mini. Can it hold it’s ground with its specs and features? Well, judging from the published specs of the LG G Pad 8.3, it looks like a pretty decent tablet after all.
The LG G Pad 8.3 tablet boasts of the following:
- 1.7GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 600 Processor
- 8.3-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels / 273 ppi) display
- 16GB eMMC
- RAM: 2GB LPDDR2 of RAM
- 5.0MP rear camera/ 1.3MP front-facing camera
- 4,600mAh battery
- Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 OS
Set to debut sometime in Q4 2013, the LG G Pad 8.3 will make an appearance during the IFA 2013. It will be released in key markets in North America, Europe, and Asia first to be followed by other regions. If the plethora of Samsung Galaxy Tabs and Samsung Galaxy Notes didn’t entice you to go into a tablet craze just yet, well, the LG G Pad 8.3 seems like a pretty good option — unless of course, you’re waiting for Apple to announce their iPad Mini Retina Display.
