As if to make the waiting to the highly anticipated launch of the Lumia 1520 “phablet” less painful, Nokia, aided by Microsoft and AT&T, has decided to slash Lumia 1020’s on-contract price.
This is not the first time we’re seeing the ultimate cameraphone discounted, as Amazon has recently shaved 50 bucks off the initial list price, but the current Microsoft Store and AT&T deal is by far the best. Best yet and probably for quite some time going forward.
Specifically, America’s number two wireless carrier now offers the Windows Phone for $199.99 with the customary 24-month pacts in matte yellow, matte black and matte white, complete with free shipping upon purchasing the handheld online. Note that the white model is currently only available through att.com, whereas the other two can also be scored via the network’s physical stores.
As for Microsoft, the potential future owners of Nokia, they sell the Lumia 1020 for 200 bucks themselves, the same 2-year contracts included, but they also throw in an extra incentive, namely a free $74 worth Nokia Camera Grip. I guess that could come in handy when using the 4.5-incher for what it does best – capturing stunning snapshots with its 41 MP PureView camera.
