A purported Sony Xperia Z1 was rumored to make an appearance at IFA last week, but Sony decided not to release it as to protect their flagship’s excitement. This doesn’t mean that we will not see the device — it is still rumored to be in the pipeline and now expected to make an appearance at CES 2014.
Now that Sony Xperia Z1 is official, the rumor mill has shifted its focus onto a miniature version, which is expected to pack a similar set of specifications as the flagship, but in a smaller body. A new image of the purported Xperia Z1 Mini in purple has been leaked alongside Xperia Z1.
The device is expected to feature a 4.3-inch display with a 720p resolution, which is less than the Sony Xperia Z1. The rest of the specifications are rumored to be the same including a Snapdragon 800 SoC, 2GB RAM, a 20.7-megapixel camera with G Lens technology and Android 4.2.2. Sony Xperia Z1 Mini will feature the same appearance as Xperia Z1 with a smaller screen.
Let’s just take this rumor with a grain of salt. Xperia Z1 Mini is expected to see the daylight next year at CES 2014. I hope Sony has the miniature version in the pipeline as it can be a good, cheaper alternative to the flagship.
