As I’m sure you all know, we’re two down, one to go already, with the last order of business set to be crossed off the list in time for the holiday season as well. But what exactly does Amazon have up its sleeve? No way to know for sure, although we have a few very good guesses.
There should be at least three new Kindle Fires showcased this fall, one that’s been benchmarked with a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor inside, the second one coming with high-end specs of its own but a smaller display and finally an entry-level 7-inch model.
This last baby may have been spied on by perennial source of classified information @evleaks, who tweeted earlier today a press shot of a Kindle tab, alongside a very short text: “Another upcoming Kindle”.
That’s certainly vague and leaves a lot of room for interpretation, but, since the slate doesn’t seem to come with a front-facing camera, the best guess is it’s not one of the high-end variants.
Interestingly (though not surprisingly), the new Kindle looks essentially identical to the 2012 Fire HD 7, meaning the gossip about it also packing most of the old fellow’s specs could gain traction. Now how about a price tag and ETA? Anybody?
