Well, this is certainly no way to cheerfully start a stressful new week, but what can you do? Apparently, Nokia has delayed the rumored September 26 press event where the Lumia 1520 phablet and/or Windows RT-powered Sirius tablet were supposed to see daylight.
The info comes from one of the most trustworthy sources in the business, Twitter user @evleaks, a.k.a. Evan Nelson Blass, who also says the new date for the 1520-focused event “could” be October 22. That is one massive delay!
On the plus side, several new photos of the 6-inch beast have surfaced over in China, including one that showcases the “Bandit” in white, Verizon-bound clothing. Wait, what? The Lumia 1520 will not be exclusive to just one American carrier? It certainly doesn’t appear so, though chances are this milky flavor will indeed only make its way to one network: Big Red.
The other important detail revealed by the photo starring the Verizon Lumia 1520 is it’s coming with a rear-facing PureView camera rocking a 20 MP sensor, meaning earlier gossip can probably be filed under almost set in stone information now. And that includes a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip and Full HD panel.
Meanwhile, the other two pics starring Nokia’s biggest and baddest phone to date come with no revelations of their own. Just further proof this is one large, handsome mo-fo. Oh, if only Nokia would start selling it already…
