If you’re like me, you’re a freaking mess in the kitchen. And you also like to work with online recipes on your tablet. These two things do not go together. But fear food-related tablet disasters no more, because Sony last week introduced a $649 tablet made expressly for kitchens, the Xperia Tablet Z: Kitchen Edition.
A specialized edition of the 10.1-inch Xperia Tablet Z, the Kitchen Edition can, according to the Sony press release:
“withstand the toughest kitchen environment with its durable glass, carbon-fiber reinforced back panel and water-resistant design. Spills and sticky fingerprints can be rinsed away easily by running the tablet or even submerging the tablet under fresh water for up to 3 feet for up to 30 minutes with all ports and covers firmly closed.”
The tablet comes with $115 worth of accessories, content and recipes. Also included is a foldable stand and iGrill, “an app-enabled Bluetooth meat thermometer that allows cooks to monitor food from up to 200 feet away.” Handy! And there are preloaded food and cooking apps for making, among other things, apps.
So that’s what’s cookin’.
