Listen up, all you bargain hunters, penny pinchers, Scrooge McDuck wannabes and mid-range mobile technology lovers! AT&T has at long last announced Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini’s availability and pricing on the network.
And things cannot get any cheaper than this. The almost one year-old Lilliputian is up for pre-orders for $0.99 (that’s right, 99 cents), with shipping slated to be underway five days from now, i.e. September 24.
Now I know, something about buying yesteryear’s mid-end slab of silicon might not click with most of you, but come on, where are you ever going to find a decent Samsung device with a nice design and not quite terrible specs for under a buck?
Not to mention even off-contract, the S3 Mini is fairly affordable – $284.99. And besides, you get pre-loaded Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, so at least in the software department you’ll feel as good as any aristocrat rocking a sizzling hot Galaxy S4 or Galaxy Note 3.
The hardware is a different kettle of fish, I’m afraid, as you’ll need to make do with a modest dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, skimpy 5 MP rear-facing camera and out-of-style 4-inch 800 x 480 pixels resolution display. But it could be worse, no?
