Just about ready to give up on understanding Nokia’s Lumia naming scheme? Allow me to offer you… ominous music… the last straw. Apparently, Nokia’s oft rumored first tablet, codenamed “Sirius”, will be officially made available under the Lumia 2520 moniker. Why? Well, why not?
And yes, I know it kind of makes sense for its model number to start with a 2 since the Lumia phones have gone to 1 plus three other figures. But doesn’t the 520 combination sound a little, oh I don’t know, random? It does to me.
Meanwhile though, it’s probably more noteworthy that the 2520 (God, such a mouthful) is headed to Verizon in at least two color variations, black and red. Plus it’s allegedly slated to make a formal debut alongside the Lumia 1520 (you know, the phone formerly known as “Bandit”). On October 22.
Where does all this info come from? Always dependable Twitter insider @evleaks, so take it for granted or don’t take it at all. And forget about the proverbial pinch of salt. This guy’s track record is so clean you might as well start thinking about the Lumia 1520 and 2520 as official products. Now if only we’d have some price tags to go with those near certified spec sheets.
