If Windows Phone is to ever grow and challenge Android and iOS, the (r) evolution has to start now. I mean, not now now, but October 22 now, when Nokia is throwing all caution aside and entering the phablet arena head-on.
The Lumia 1520, also known as Bandit or Beastie, has started making the rumor rounds before rumors were a thing (at least that’s how it feels), but it’s only a few weeks ago that the 6-incher was stripped of all secrets and revealed in its full glory.
And today we get to see it… in red. No revelations here, no surprises, no shockers, just a big-ass slab of silicon, with plenty of elegant tiles, a loooot of screen real estate and a sexy red strip surrounding the front part.
Sadly, there’s no view of the device’s back, but you should probably keep an eye on @evleaks’ Twitter stream, as the feeling is the notorious insider has at least one more trick up his sleeve ahead of the weekend.
Meanwhile, keep in mind this ain’t no ordinary new Lumia family member, but the most innovative and groundbreaking yet. Some of the treats included in the ginormous package are, well, the large, crisp Full HD screen, quad-core Snapdragon 800 power, 2 gigs of RAM, 20 MP PureView camera and a new Windows Phone flavor, codenamed GDR 3. 18 days to go, y’all!
