Nokia Lumia 1520 is expected to see daylight on October 22nd at Nokia World in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Recently, we saw an unofficial press render of the handset in red, thanks to @evleaks. Now, some more leaked images of the device surface on the internet, comparing it with an iPhone and a Windows Phone handset.
The images have emerged from Chinese shores, the place where we get too see almost all the unreleased products. The handset looks similar to what we’ve seen in the past, the same gigantic 6-inch display featuring 1080p resolution and powered by the monstrous Snapdragon 800 SoC with a clock speed of up to 2.3GHz.
The handset is expected to come with a 2GB RAM, 16GB storage onboard with an option to extend it with a microSD card. Interestingly, the handset will come with a 20MP PureView camera with Carl Zeiss Optics – not the same legendary camera as the Lumia 1020. The camera also comes with dual-shot support meaning that the camera can take shots with 16MP and 5MP simultaneously, according to some leaked images in the past. On the software side, the handset is expected to run Windows Phone 8 GDR3.
Some rumors suggest that it will land on AT&T in early-November with a $699 price tag, followed by Verizon as well. There’s no news about the contract pricing, but we hope to find out soon at the press event later this month.
In addition to Lumia 1520, Nokia is expected to unveil six new devices that also include Nokia Lumia 2520 Windows RT tablet as well as the successor of the insanely-popular, Nokia Lumia 520.
I guess we’ll find out everything soon enough. Stay tuned as we’ll bring you all the information we can about the purported Nokia Lumia 1520.
