Everyone is gaga for Glass these days. Or at least for the newest ‘wearable tech’ fad in general. If Google Glass isn’t for you or if you’re just a Samsung Galaxy fanatic of sorts, a new rumor has it that we’ll be seeing a smart eyewear device in the Korean company’s near future.
Thanks to the hat tip from Russian tech blogger Eldar Murtazin of Mobile-Review.com, Samsung is reportedly developing their own version of Google Glass. And there’s a chance it’ll be hitting the streets in April of next year.
Murtazin tweeted the news on Sunday:
Samsung developing own version of Google Glass. We will see it (probably) around april-may under Gear Glass brand

Allegedly Samsung is planning to manufacture Glass displays in the upcoming consumer models, so with that, a similar Galaxy-branded mobile device is a solid bet to gamble on. With the company’s most recent introduction to the smart-wearables market, Galaxy Gear smartwatch, consumers are most likely wanting more. As of now, the Gear, priced steep at $300, can only work in tandem with the new Galaxy Note 3 phablet.
As of now, either tech giant, Google or Samsung, has released any insight of a Samsung “Gear Glass” iteration for consumers. However, if the claim is legitimate, we’re expecting it to launch most likely neck-in-neck with Google’s consumer Glass models.
Until then, stay with us and we’ll continue to keep you in the loop as more information unravels.
