PlayMemories Mobile for iOS was updated yesterday with a fix for the QX10 and QX100. Unfortunately, it didn’t address the most important issue iOS users are having. General connectivity and reliability still hinder the QX cameras on iOS, but the latest update made sure to correct the issue that was applying an incorrect time stamp on photos. For some reason, images that were transferred to the iOS photo app carried a January 1 time stamp on them. It was a nuisance to those who consider themselves to be very organized.
That’s great and all, but the main update has yet to arrive. Sony recently said the stability of PlayMemories Mobile for iOS 7 devices would be improved in an update sometime this month. This is by far the biggest problem with the QX10 and QX100. I would recommend not purchasing either of these cameras if you’re going to use it on an iPhone until the big update has been applied. You can also wait to see how Camera360 and Camera+ improves the functionality of the cameras.
