According to the product page on Amazon.com, the Kindle Paperwhite Wi-Fi is expected to ship in “7 to 10 days.” If that is too long to wait, you do have an alternative. The Kindle Paperwhite 3G is still listed as being in stock, and Amazon can ship it today. If I were you I would hurry; the 3G model is liable to be nearly as popular as the Wi-Fi model, so it could go out of stock in the next day or so.
Amazon announced the new Kindle Paperwhite just over a month ago, shortly after the product listing leaked. Reviews from the major tech blogs have been very positive, but the early reviews from two leading niche ereader blogs are mixed. One blogger recommended against upgrading because he did not see any significant improvement in the screen quality, while another suggested that the faster screen refresh, improved frontlight, and overall improved responsiveness might make the new model worth the cost.
