The wait for the new iPad could be almost over. AllThingsD is reporting that Apple is set to hold an invite-only press event on the 22nd of October. Their sources are saying that Apple will show off the latest iPad and iPad Mini:
People familiar with Apple’s plans tell AllThingsD that the company will hold its next invitation-only event on Tuesday, October 22. The focal point of the gathering will be the latest updates to the company’s iPad line, but the new Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks will likely get some stage time as well, I’m told.
Apple is expected to unveil a new iPad that will be both lighter and thinner and have smaller bezels on the sides of the screen. If past rumors and component leaks are correct then it will look a lot like the current iPad Mini. The new iPad is also expected to have an improved camera and run iOS7 on Apple’s new 64-bit A7 chip.
Pundits are also speculating that Apple might launch a new iPad Mini. A number of parts have leaked and the latest rumors say that the new model will have a Retina Display and Apple’s new 64-bit A7 chip.
