Nokia may not be a Microsoft subsidiary… yet and in theory the Finns are still completely independent of exterior influences, but their first ever Lumia tablet could steal borrow something from Surface slates. Namely, the only design element that really made the Surfaces stand out when pitted against iOS or Android-based competition: the built-in kickstand.
As the Lumia 2520 (formerly nicknamed “Sirius”) is a couple of weeks or so away from a formal announcement, the kickstand scoop is not confirmed as of now. But it looks pretty much set in stone, since a tab that can really only be this Windows RT-powered 10-incher has shown its sexy back in a very legit-looking photo.
Aside from giving it a fairly distinguished vibe, the Surface-specific accessory should help the Lumia 2520 be just a tad more productive than your regular Android slate or iPad, as users will be able to more comfortably use it for multimedia playing or even browsing.
Meanwhile, the pic seems to confirm the “Sirius” will come with optional cellular support and a massive volume rocker on the right side. Other features, not based on this leak, but earlier scoop, shall include a Full HD 10.1-inch panel, quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2 gigs of RAM, Windows RT 8.1 and 6.1 MP rear-facing camera. If only Nokia wouldn’t have turned its back on Android…
