First off, let me say that my younger brother listens to his music with the V-Moda Crossfade Headphones, and he’s very picky when it comes to headphones, so you know they’re good. That being said, I still gave the V-Moda Crossfade M-100s an unbiased review since you know…he’s my brother…and he smells or whatever. If I had to sum up the Crossfade M-100s, I would simply say they’re like a Ferrari for your ears.
Perhaps, I’m on the same wavelength as V-Moda because their slogan is, “Inspired in Italy, styled in Hollywood,” and I would have to say they meet this criteria exceptionally. Plus, I’m from Los Angeles so if I say they’ve got Hollywood style, you can trust my judgment. Everything about the Crossfade M-100s has an Italian finesse to it—it feels luxurious. Even the packaging screamed high class. Although I couldn’t resist taking advantage of the shell-shaped box:
But let’s get to the details. The M-100s produce amazing sound, and here’s why: 50 mm Dual-Diaphragm Driver, analog noise isolation, no batteries needed, consistent-driver quality, and plenty more. Basically, these headphones are an audiophile’s dream thanks to the clean, deep bass that sounds great in any genre or at any volume. Don’t worry, I put them through my rigorous headphones playlist test. There’s also something a little extra about the Crossfade M-100s. It’s hard to explain, but you feel surrounded by your music, which is nice. Plus, there’s very little sound leakage so no one else can hear your musical experience.
The audio is only the first majorly awesome element to the Crossfade M-100s. Personally, I loved the style of them. The ones I reviewed were made of white leather and metal. I’ve honestly never used metal headphones, and at first I was a little apprehensive about it. But trust me when I say that it’s better. For whatever reason, whether it’s the sleek look or the audio benefits, metal is the way to go. And who doesn’t love leather? Remember what I said about the Ferrari? Well, the leather certainly helps. Although, the white leather did get dirty easily and I’m relatively clean! Just don’t look in my room…
Plus, the headphones were REALLY comfortable. And I’m a comfort snob. The M-100s utilize an ergonomic steelflex headband which is a fancy way of saying they’ll adapt to your head shape. And even better, they use memory foam for the ear cushions.
Next on the fabulous features list is the Crossfade M-100s’ portability. You wouldn’t think these headphones would be portable, but they are. They fold up really nicely and they fit perfectly in the included shell case. Compared to the SMS Street by 50 Cent headphones, the V-Modas are much easier to pack. And, they’re really not heavy.
Perhaps the best thing about the V-Modas is that V-Moda clearly stands by their product. They provide consumers with a two year warranty and a limetime 50 percent immortal life warranty. It’s nice to know that even after you purchase the headphones, you’ll still be taken care of if something happens to them. Even 40 years after purchasing them. Now that’s customer service.
In short, if you buy one pair of headphones in your lifetime, you should check out the V-Moda Crossfade M-100 Headphones. Just trust me.
The V-MODA Crossfade M-100 retail for $310.00.
