LG might have lost a battle (another one) against Samsung, but it sure hasn’t lost the war… yet. The war of the curved display smartphones, that is, where the Galaxy Round has shot the first missile, but the LG G Flex looks ready to counterattack and go all nuclear on Sammy’s ass.
After being virtually confirmed by company execs more than once, G Flex’s launch seemed like a matter of time. And now it looks even more imminent, as Engadget claims to have entered in the possession of exclusive unofficial pics of the device.
There’s naturally no way to verify the legitimacy of the photos, but they look pretty real to me… and bananas to say the least, so I for one am ready to take them for granted. Exactly like the Galaxy Round, the G Flex won’t technically be flexible in that the end user won’t actually be able to mold or bend it.
But as far as that panel goes, I’m getting the vibe LG went a little further than Samsung. And not just as far as curves go, since apparently the G Flex will be a massive 6-incher. With Full-HD resolution, we certainly hope, though rumor had it at one point the pixel count will clock in at 720p.
Oh, well, wait and see is all we can do for now, plus keep our fingers crossed for LG to pull what Samsung is still incapable of: a global launch of a curved display handheld. Wouldn’t that be something for the ages?
