Tablets are well known for being excellent consumer devices, though with the right accessories you can turn them into highly-portable productivity machines.
If you’re not looking to go so far as purchasing a wireless keyboard, mouse, and tablet stand, you can at least start with a good stylus.
While I love the idea of using a stylus with an iPad, my biggest issue has been, well, the styli themselves. Having been a long-time user of Wacom Bamboo pressure-sensitive pens and tablets, I find that most tablet styli are not unlike using an over-sized crayon.
Up on Kickstarter is the TruGlide Apex, likely the most elegant fine-point stylus available. It features innovative circuitry and a metal body with a brushed silver coating.
The difference in tip size is striking when you compare it to the majority of styli on the market.
The [easyazon-link asin=”B007KAXAC8″ locale=”us”]TruGlide[/easyazon-link] Apex has a 2.4mm tip, which is 90% smaller than most of its peers. It provides far greater control and precision for notes, drawings, and the most realistic pen-to-paper feeling.
The TruGlide Apex is currently only compatible with the iPad 2/3/4 and iPad Mini. It works with all apps without needing any attachments or plugins. The single AAAA battery lets it run for up to 8 hours, and is easy to install and replace.
Check out the TruGlide Apex Kickstarter page for more photos and information. The project is already overfunded, but there is still time to pledge for one of your own.
