Although HTC may seem like they’re doing alright in the mobile sector (not as bad as BlackBerry,) recently the company has undergone some major intel changes. Starting with losing a few senior executives in the last few months (a total of six in the past two and a half years,) to ditching their partnership with Beats by Dre; a Bloomberg report from Friday states that Lorain Wong, VP and Head of Global PR, Corporate and International Communications, will also soon depart from the Taiwanese OEM.
Though Wong’s reasons for leaving are at this point unsaid, its been chalked up to “personal reasons.”
Wong joined the company just four months ago in June and will stay on as a consultant for the next three to four months. Prior to her work with HTC, Wong spent about a decade managing submarine cable provider Asia Global Crossing’s marketing communications and before that worked with AT&T and CBS Evening News. There is no word yet on her plans for after leaving HTC.
Hardly ever a stranger to the rumor mill, most recent speculations question if HTC will manufacture upcoming Amazon smartphones. There’s no information linking Wong’s departure to any of the company’s recent rumors.
