Nokia unveiled their long-rumored 6-inch phablet known as the Nokia Lumia 1520 at Nokia World in Abu Dhabi earlier today. The handset is all set to launch in Asia and Europe by the end of the year with a $749 price tag for the SIM-free version, which might be considered high for most of us. Additionally, there were no details about the launch of the phablet on U.S. shores, but AT&T has just announced that it will exclusively carry Nokia Lumia 1520.
The carrier didn’t announce any pricing plans or the estimated availability date, but this should come as a relief to all those potential users who are planning to get their hands-on the Windows Phone 8 powerhouse. If you want, you can sign up in the notification list here to get to know about the day AT&T announce the availability.
“AT&T was the first to launch a 4G LTE Windows Phone, and first to enter the large screen space. We are proud to bring the Nokia Lumia 1520 exclusively to the U.S. on the nation’s fastest and now most reliable 4G LTE network,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices, AT&T Mobility. “We continue to offer our customers the best Windows Phone portfolio and the top lineup of Nokia Lumia devices in the U.S.”
AT&T also announced that they will also carry the Windows RT powered Lumia 2520 tablet in the near future. The tablet will go on sale with a $499 price tag in US, UK and Finland by the end of this year. Similarly, the carrier has the sign up page for the tablet as well, which can be access here.
