Nokia unveiled their long-rumored Windows RT tablet, Lumia 2520, last week at a press event in Abu Dhabi. The tablet comes with a $499 price tag and will hit various global markets by the end of this year, with an initial launch in U.K. and U.S. next month, hopefully.
AT&T announced that they’ll carry Nokia’s latest slate along with the exclusive Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet. It was also announced that the tablet will make its way to Verizon as well — we’ve seen leaked images of the tablet with Verizon branding in the past too. Now, our very own @evleaks just tweeted the photo of the Nokia Lumia 2520 with Verizon branding in black and red, showing that the Big Red will announce the tablet in two colors.
The Big Red didn’t announce any availability date or the pricing plan, but rumors suggest that it will hit Verizon by the end of fourth quarter. If you’re anxious about picking up the 4G LTE compatible tablet from Verizon, you can sign up on Verizon’s website to know about its availability.
The slate comes with an impressive 10.1-inch display sporting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a Snapdragon 800 CPU with a clock speed of 2.2GHz with Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM and comes with Windows RT 8.1 out of the box. The tablet comes with 32GB internal storage with expandable memory support of up to 32GB, 6.7MP back camera with PurView technology and a massive 8,000 mAh battery capable of providing 10 hours of constant video playback.
On the connectivity side, the slate features NFC, A-GPS+GLONASS, WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n, microUSB 3.0, BT 4.0 LE and a 3.5mm audio connector.
We’ll update you as soon as the Big Red announce the pricing plans as well as its availability.
