Overseas however, things are not as bad, with UK’s Vodafone for instance carrying the 5.9-incher for about two weeks and a batch of other British retailers selling or preparing to sell it outright, SIM-free, on “Pay as You Go” or however you prefer to call it.
Unlocked-Mobiles is likely the seller promising to cut you the best deal, with the One max costing £584.98, including VAT, and shipping already with free next day delivery. Meanwhile, Clove and Mobile Fun are expected to start selling the phablet later today and tomorrow respectively, for steeper price points. Namely, £589.99 and £599.99.
That’s $947 and $963, mind you, which is surely a lot to ask for a huge phone with only one or two selling points. Specifically, size (obviously) and fingerprint recognition technology.
If a third reason might convince you to board the One max bandwagon though, know that the dual-SIM version has been confirmed in Vietnam, being also headed for China at some point in the near future. Pricing I’m afraid is pretty bonkers: 21.6 million dong, or $1,024. So it holds two SIM cards, but does it also cook dinner for that dough?
