There’s no use hiding it. You want Apple’s Retina display-toting iPad mini 2. All of you. But not everyone can afford it. After all, $400 for a Wi-Fi only version and $530 with cellular connectivity is no joke.
Granted, you could wait for Black Friday or Cyber Monday and hope someone somewhere will shave a couple clams off the retail prices. But it’s not going to happen. Best case scenario, expect to find the Wi-Fi model for, say, $360.
No deal? Then maybe T-Mobile can lend a hand. The “UnCarrier” has just kicked iPad Mini Retina pre-orders into gear and, while in the long haul, it asks exactly as much as Apple for a 4G LTE variation, on the upfront you don’t have to cough up anything. As in not a penny.
Furthermore, the $530 that you’ll owe T-Mo will be paid in monthly installments of $22.08 each from now until the end of 2015. Sound good? I think it sounds awesome if you’re on a tight budget at the moment but still want the hottest slab of silicon around.
If 16 GB of storage won’t cut it, the 32 GB-er goes for $100 in advance, the 64 GB version is $200 and the 128 GB version is $300. All with the same monthly fees.
T-Mo is now taking pre-orders, with shipping likely to begin sometime next week. Initial inventory is bound to be limited, so you may be forced to play the waiting game a few extra weeks. Small price to pay though, am I right?
