Perhaps you’ve been wanting to make the switch from iOS to Android, but you’re not quite sure where to begin. I guess this is what Google’s Eric Schmidt is banking on, especially around the holiday season. After all, it’s always the holidays where I tend to get a new smartphone. RIP Blackberry. So, Schmidt has decided to push you in the direction of Android and with that, he has written a guide on Google+ to help you get started on your switch.
The 870-word guide is nothing complicated. It convers topics such as how to set up your accounts as well as moving all your emails, contacts, music and photos to your Android device.
Here’s a tidbit:
Like the people who moved from PCs to Macs and never switched back, you will switch from iPhone to Android and never switch back as everything will be in the cloud, backed up, and there are so many choices for you. 80% of the world, in the latest surveys, agrees on Android.
However, he leaves out some of the more difficult switching problems such as third party Android Smartphones like Samsung who have their own ways of migrating your information.
But, it still seems like a helpful how-to if you find yourself in that situation.
“Be sure to use Chrome, not Safari; it’s safer and better in so many ways. And it’s free,” Schmidt adds.
So, will you be making the switch?
