When it rains, it pours. That used to be such a cliché and something you generally gave a negative meaning to. But not when it comes to Black Friday deals. Retailers are truly making it pour with incredible promotions, the latest of which brings the price of the world’s cheapest Windows Phone even lower.
Back in the day available for as much as $200 and several times in the past months discounted to $70 or even $55, Nokia’s Lumia 520 will cost a measly 50 bucks through AT&T between November 28 and December 2.
That’s an outright, no-contract price point, albeit naturally you won’t be able to score the handheld via AT&T and then get a SIM card from another carrier and activate it. In theory, the limited-time deal should be valid both online and in Ma Bell’s brick and mortar stores, but don’t count on inventory riding high, so be sure to book your own copy of the Lumia 520 on Thanksgiving Day.
Meanwhile, if you feel like there’s an itch in need of scratching today, Microsoft technically sells the same exact phone for an extra 10 clams. Technically being the key word there, as the 520 is listed as out of stock at the time of this writing. If you’re desperate to score it fast, checking MS’ online store a little later is worth a shot, but otherwise, just be patient. It’s not as if you have work to do tomorrow, right?
