Talk about rock-solid sources of classified intel. We used to think there was no one more reliable than Twitter insider @evleaks and no publication with a cleaner track record than Wall Street Journal.
But you can’t beat a judge when it comes to trustworthiness. Hence, assuming the Honorable Mr. Richard Arnold knows what he’s talking about (and he does), HTC’s One follow-up, codenamed M8, is near guaranteed to land “in the first quarter of 2014” and “possibly as early as February 2014”.
Wait, something doesn’t make sense. What exactly was the business an authority of the law had with the HTC M8 again? Glad you asked. Judge Arnold presided over the One mini patent infringement case, filed by Nokia and resulting in a UK import ban of the 4.3-incher.
His duties included assessing if the One mini indeed violated Nokia-owned patents, as well as examining the potential fault of other HTC-made gadgets. As such, he needed to dig through the future plans of the Taiwanese, which, surprise, surprise, include the One Two (or is it just the Two?).
Long story short, he was informed by Nokia the M8 is slated for a February or March 2014 commercial launch, a piece of information HTC officials didn’t refute. There you have it, the timeline, specs and features of the One sequel. Anyone psyched?
