Here we are-it’s the beginning of December and suddenly the holidays are beginning to feel very real. And if you’re like me, you took one look at those Black Friday lines and said “nah, I’ll just get my holiday shopping done later.” Well folks, it’s go time and I’m here to save you some stress. The Soundfreaq Sound Spot is the perfect gift for everyone on your holiday list, except maybe your roommate who likes to play music AT ALL HOURS OF THE NIGHT. So let’s cut to the chase.
The Soundfreaq has a really unique look. At first sight, you don’t really know what to make of it. There’s wood paneling and different color options but it’s definitely an interesting look for a speaker. But trust me, this look will grow on you. There’s something retro and classy about it. Honestly, I figured it was something that Ron Burgundy would definitely have in his home. Y’know he goes up to the ladies and says something like “I have many leather-bound books, my apartment smells of rich mahogany and I have a beautiful Soundfreaq Sound Spot.”
But hey, that’s just me. The awesome thing about the Sound Spot is that there are a ton of new colors available for the holiday season. Just take a look:
See! I told you there’s a Sound Spot for everyone!
As for Bluetooth connectivity, it’s a breeze. I didn’t even need to read the directions and I still connected in about 15 seconds. For whatever reason, I’ve seen a lot of Bluetooth speakers that don’t have a play/pause button. Rest assured, the Sound Spot has all your button needs covered. You can skip tracks, adjust the volume and play and pause your music. And the buttons are very touch-sensitive, so you won’t need to wear down the buttons with your greasy fingers! You hear that, little sister? Another perk to the Sound Spot is that it can stream your music AND charge your phone, which is awesome considering my iPhone is losing battery like crazy lately. First world problems, I know.
But what’s an aesthetically-pleasing, user-friendly Bluetooth speaker without awesome audio? Well it’s not the Sound Spot, that’s for sure. The Sound Spot can keep up with your music. I took it through a typical Hannah audio test: Broken Bells, Iron & Wine, Real Estate and then of course the standard Kanye West test. And everything sounded great, even at the louder volumes.
The Soundfreaq Sound Spot has a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 7 hours and it retails for $69.99.
