We’ve seen several leaked images of the Verizon Nokia Lumia 929 in the past few weeks. The leaks intensified this week when we spotted Nokia Lumia 929 with Verizon branding from Mexican shores.
Actually, we know everything we need to about the Nokia Lumia 929 that will be exclusively available on the Big Red in the US, with no word if it will launch in other global markets. The only thing left for us to know is the codename of the purported Windows Phone 8 handset. Thanks to the notorious @evleaks, Verizon Nokia Lumia 929 is codenamed “Icon.”
Specifications-wise, Nokia Lumia 929 is rumored to pack a 5-inch display sporting 1080p resolution, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset with 2GB RAM on board. Other features include 2GB of RAM and an impressive 20MP camera with PureView Technology and Carl Zeiss Optics and Windows Phone 8 Update 3 aka GDR 3 pre-installed.
There’s no official confirmation about the launch date of the handset, but rumors suggest that it will launch by late-December. Earlier rumors pointed towards Thanksgiving and November 21st, but both these dates have come and gone with no announcement. Let’s see if the late-December launch date is correct or not. We’ll find out pretty soon.
