Good, nay great news, Droid DNA owners enviously looking up to HTC One users rocking such awesome, so far exclusive features like BlinkFeed. A massive, two-part software update is rolling out your way, bringing with it Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and HTC’s goodie-packed Sense 5 UI.
Now I know what you’re thinking. Isn’t Android 4.4 KitKat all the rage nowadays? Well, it is, but Android 4.2 bundled with Sense 5 is truly the next best thing. Also, leaping straight from 4.1 to 4.4 could have come with a solid share of bugs, glitches and whatnot and I’m sure you wouldn’t want that.
Besides, Google and Nestle’s chocolaty treat is itself not far down the road. Not as near as HTC first suggested either, with the 4.4 upgrade now scheduled for “as early as April”. That still sounds… timely, just don’t push it back any further, HTC.
Back to today’s order of business, I’m ecstatic to report the Android 4.2+Sense 5 rollout appears to be going down unusually smoothly and without hiccups. Again, it’s a two-parter, so it may take some time, but plenty of Droid DNA owners have taken to forums to let the world know both pieces of the puzzle have been completed.
In terms of actual, specific tweaks and bumps, the highly customizable BlinkFeed home screen leads the pack, followed by numerous bug fixes, camera, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi performance improvements and some removed Verizon bloatware. Not too shabby for a one year-old phone, eh?
