LTE network coverage by Verizon has been expanding the past few months. More and more cities are getting the high speed mobile Internet, giving the carrier more subscribers. Last year, the company spent almost $3.6 billion on spectrum but sold some to gain FCC’s approval.
More cities are getting such speed as part of Verizon Wireless’ 3rd-year anniversary of its 4G LTE technology. Verizon started in 39 markets in the US when it first launched in 2010 but now, more than 500 markets are covered in 50 states.
About 95 percent of the US population or 303 million are covered by Verizon’s LTE network, making Verizon ahead of other carriers.
The latest cities to be added on the long list include Chicago, Seattle, New York, and Atlanta. Covered areas can enjoy up to 150 Mbps of LTE on limited devices. So if you have a Samsung Galaxy S4, Motorola Droid, and iPhone 5S, you’re lucky you can enjoy Verizon’s LTE.
