The Chinese OEM Huawei is gearing up to launch the successor of its high-end Huawei P6 in April next year, which will be manufactured using “exquisite materials,” according to the leaked internet document received by GSMArena. Another selling point of the handset is the ability to make the “best selfie videos” as Huawei puts it.
According to the inside tipster, the rumored Huawei P7 will look similar to its predecessor and is codenamed “Sophia.”
The leaked internal document also reveals the specifications of the purported handset including a 5-inch TFT LCD display sporting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 1.6GHz quad-core HiSilicon Balong 910 chipset with 2GB of RAM on board.
Other specifications include 16GB internal storage with a microSD card slot, 13MP rear camera for photos and videos, 8MP front-facing camera for video calls, 2,460 mAh battery and runs unknown Android version with Huawei’s EmotionUI 2.0. We’re wildly guessing it will come with Android 4.4 pre-installed out of the box.
Huawei P7 is LTE-enabled with support for Cat 4 at the 800/1800/2100/2600 bands. There’s no information about the pricing strategy the company will adopt, but we’ll hopefully find out more about the purported handset in the coming months.
